“It’s falling on deaf ears!” “Stop wasting your time.” “Your efforts are meaningless.” “Why bother?”
Do these statements sound at all familiar? Many times these thoughts creep up on me. These are nothing but lies from the pit! The enemy wants nothing more than to distract us from the things of God. Planting these thoughts are clever and subtle, yet pathetic ways the enemy tries to get us off track. Earlier today, I sensed the Holy Spirit directing me to write about what I see in 2 Chronicles 15. This verse jumps out…
“But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7
In this chapter, the Bible tells me the Spirit of God came upon a man named Azariah, and he met up with King Asa and the men of Judah as they were returning from battle, “…for your work will be rewarded.” I believe these words spoken by Azariah thousands of years ago, are also inspiring words to us living in the here and now.
Recognition and reward are great motivators, but so many are unrecognized by the world for their work. But God sees. The enemy might have you believing the work you’re doing for God is insignificant. Don’t be discouraged if you feel your faith in God is going unrewarded here on earth. The best rewards are not in this life but in the life to come.
Just a small nugget of wisdom!
