Love this ~ “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.”

Jesus wasn’t playing around…He told it like it is. Isn’t He so good to give us pictures of things; ways that we can understand spiritual truth? Branches cannot live and produce fruit on their own…they get nourishment and life only from the vine.
Jesus said that if we remain in Him, We will produce much fruit.
As our Advocate, our Helper, our Counselor… the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth, and gives us the ability, power, and strength we need to produce this fruit:
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23
Each of these characteristics and virtues are given to followers of Christ from the Holy Spirit. They are found only in the nature of Christ, and are the evidence that God reigns in our hearts….
