“Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.”   2 Corinthians 4:4

Some of us see the glass half full.  Some of us see the glass half empty.  This is why the same problem gets different reactions by different people.  Perception is the way we look at things.  As true followers of Christ, we see the hand of God in every one of our circumstances.  When the Bible says “he that has ears, let him hear,” is not speaking about natural ears, but spiritual ears.  Or “eyes to see and see not,” again is not talking about natural eyes (Isaiah 6:9, Matthew 13:14, Acts 28:26).  God isn’t the one blinding unbelievers and dulling their ears; Scripture clearly tells us it is Satan.  Romans 8:7 shows us that the natural mind cannot see the things of God – it says “because the carnal mind is enmity against God.”

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he”  Proverbs 23:7

Really think about this… God’s Word is saying that the way you perceive things in your heart is the way your life will go.  Do you believe that?  That’s why we are told to let God’s Word transform our thoughts and our hearts; when we do, our perception changes and we can see ourselves as God sees us.  Study the Word!  Here’s an example…  once you come to Christ, “you are the righteousness of God in Christ,”  however, many people still think of themselves as unworthy.  You have to see yourself the way that God sees you and then the physical natural will follow.  As I write this I am reminded of another post I’ve written… He Will Calm and Color It All

“Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.”  Colossians 3:1-2

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”  2 Corinthians 5:7

So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”   Galatians 3:11

Many, many times we’re told in the Bible that God’s Word is true.  God is the only One who can remove the veil from your eyes (“But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.”  2 Corinthians 3:16).  Allow me to close this post by saying this… You were created by a loving God, and you have great value.  God loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you.  It doesn’t matter how crazy/sinful your past has been.  There is no pit so deep that God isn’t deeper!  You don’t have to be holy or “have it all together.”  He will meet you right where you’re at.  God tells you that if you’re searching for Him with all of your heart, you will find Him!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”   Jeremiah 29: 11-13
