This by far, is the best homework I’ve ever had! Actually, I’m going to challenge you to do this along with me. Choose about seven verses – any seven lines of Scripture from the book of Psalms, write it out as a devotional you pray back to God. He loves to have His Word recited back to Him! Here is mine…
Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.
I will sing to the LORD as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath!
Thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
I was so foolish and ignorant— I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you. Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand.
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.
What joy for those whose strength comes from the LORD, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings. They will continue to grow stronger, and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem.
