How do we respond when life seems unjust? How do we respond to “unlovable” people? I’m talking about those wonderful people who are mean, overly critical, irritating, hurtful, and unfriendly… people who just have a way of getting on our last nerve! So,
How do we honestly respond? Sometimes my first impulse is to give them a piece of my mind. There are sometimes we feel the need to get even.

“But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you.” Matthew 5:44
That’s easier said than done…right? Jesus commands us to love and forgive…not to hold grudges. Doing this is so beyond our nature, it’s not a natural thing. It’s supernatural! Only the Holy Spirit can give us strength to love the unlovable people in our lives. All we need to do is ask for His help.
“Anyone who receives you receives me, and anyone who receives me receives the Father who sent me…And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” Matthew 10:40-42
How much we love God is reflected in how we treat others. God notices every deed we do…the good, the bad, and the ugly. Today, maybe we can all find something unselfish to do for someone else?
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.” Luke 6:37
“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:34-35

These are just a few scriptures that talk about love; you’ll find hundreds more in a Bible Concordance. It’s so evident that God holds us to the highest standard when it comes to love. But this kind of love can only be the byproduct of our relationship with Him.
