By My SpiritSo often we complicate things. God wants us to keep things simple.  I know that I tend to over think things; I can get myself to the place where I feel that I have to make things happen for myself… kind of making sure I’m doing all the right things and thinking the right way, so things turn out good.  I can put tremendous pressure on myself; I can sometimes believe the lie that it’s up to me to get things done.  Again and again, the Holy Spirit reminds me…

“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit.”  Zechariah 4: 6

Thank you Holy Spirit!  Yes Lord, it’s only by Your Spirit I can do anything that is of worth!  The Holy Spirit always sets me straight.  I am gently reminded it will only be by His power that there will be any help given to me or to anybody else.  I can literally feel a huge weight being lifted off of me.   We have to do things His way and allow Him to take the lead in all that we do, think, or say.  Leave it up to Him to do the work through His Spirit.  When God is in it, the mountains that stand in the way shall dwindle into mole-hills.   All the difficulties shall vanish, and all the objections gone.

As I write this, I am also reminded of the many times my overwhelmed soul has been flooded with peace with just a couple words from the Savior… Lori, that’s why I died, so I’m betting that there are more than a few of you who can relate to what I’ve written.  So beloved friends, you can rest in Jesus; his yoke is easy and His burden is light.  Take comfort from these words spoken by Isaiah…

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:  And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”  Isaiah 40: 4-5

Faith will remove mountains and make them plains. Christ is our Zerubbabel; mountains of difficulty were in the way of his undertaking, but before him they were all levelled; nothing is too hard for his grace to do.
