It’s amazing what I can do now. I mean… it’s amazing that I can once do again the simple things I used to take for granted. I kind of touched on that a little with my post titled In Everything Give Thanks. I just had to write about how faithful God is, and how so grateful I am for what He is doing in my life. Twenty years ago, If I would have seen myself sitting in a wheelchair and giving thanks and praise to God in that wheelchair… I would have thought I was on Crack!
Yes indeed, God has made nothing short of a radical change in this once shallow/arrogant girl who thought the world revolved around her. God’s boot camp has changed me. I needed His boot camp, oh I so-so needed my character to be changed, and I thank God for His severe mercy towards me.
For many years I have been so limited physically; just getting from point A to point B (using my walker), extremely fatigued me to the point where doing just one thing made me call it quits for the day; and I’m just talking about things like doing laundry, putting clothes away, taking a shower, etc… Effortless little things that the majority takes for granted.
I love my wheelchair! Yes, God has restored to me more independence and has given me a way of getting more done. He is Faithful. He knows what we need. My spirit is a witness to Him doing greater things. I know that the best is yet to come!
“Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.
He who continually goes forth weeping,
Bearing seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,
Bringing his sheaves with him.”
Check out my Christmas tree. I decorated it IN MY WHEELCHAIR!
