Ephesians 6:13-16
The devil wants us to doubt our salvation. The helmet protects our minds from doubting God’s saving work for us. You may even begin to wonder if you are really a Christian? Sometimes you can wonder if you are really going to spend eternity with God?
When questions like this come ~ look in the Bible to what God says:
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Remember, to “believe” is more than just intellectual agreement that Jesus is God. It means putting our trust and confidence in Him that He alone can save us.
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 ~ If you’ve done that, you can be sure of your salvation. God doesn’t lie. You can take Him at His Word.
The devil is a liar…he’s the Father of Lies. He’s constantly at work trying to wear our defenses down. He loves to confuse us about God and his purposes for our lives.
So “put on” the helmet of salvation…The mind is the gateway to the heart. We must guard our minds. We need the wisdom we can only find in God’s Word.
Next, we’ll take up the last piece of armor…The Sword of the Spirit
