The woman with the issue of blood… the Bible says she was constantly bleeding for twelve years… a seemingly incurable condition. For twelve years she’s been one of the “untouchables” and had not been able to lead a normal life! Can you imagine that? Oh I can…
“If I can just touch the hem of His garment, things will change for me. I’ll be healed.” That’s faith – real faith. She desperately fought her way through the crowd in hopes of reaching Jesus. As soon as she did, she was healed. “Touch Him, and He’ll touch you back.” Aren’t they great words? Love these words… a friend of mine used them in a devotion she sends me daily through email.
Many people surrounded Jesus. But what a difference there is between the crowds that are curious about Jesus and the few who reach out and touch Him! There are those who are vaguely familiar with Jesus, but nothing in their lives reflect His life changing power. If that’s you, you need to move out of curiosity, complacency, and lip service! Reach out to Christ. His touch will change your life forever. Human nature tends to make us want to give up on people or situations that have not changed for many years. But God changes the unchangeable. He can give new purpose and hope. Writing this makes me think of one of my favorite scriptures I stand on. It’s about the faith of Abraham…
